Success in Life
The world has so many lessons to teach us. The earth is like a school and our life the classrooms. Sometimes here in this Planet Earth School, the lessons often come dressed up as detours or roadblocks; sometimes as full-blown crises. But the secret to getting ahead is being open to the lessons.
We must always find ways of walking life, eager and open to self-improvement and that which is going to best help us evolve. Do not think we have any other mission, because that is really what we are set at-evolving as human beings meaning growing into more of ourselves, always moving to the next level of understanding, the next level of compassion and growth. There is a lesson in almost everything that we do and every experience we go through. We can only move forward if we get the lesson. It is how we enrich the spirit because inner wisdom is more precious than wealth. The more you spend it, the more you gain.
It is so certain that when we doing the work we are meant to do, it feels right and every day is a bonus, regardless of what we get paid. What I know now is that feelings are really our GPRS system for life. When we are supposed to do something or not supposed to do something, the emotional guidance system lets us know. The trick is to learn to check the ego at the door and start checking the gut instead. Every right decision you make at times come from the gut. And conversely, many wrong decisions you make are always a result of you not listening to the greater voice in you.
We all can be successful. Maybe it is that possession of money. Maybe! Money is pretty nice. It is good for buying things. But having a lot of money does not automatically make anyone a successful person. What you want is money and meaning. You want your work to be meaningful since meaning is what brings the real richness to life. What you really want is to be surrounded by people you trust and treasure and by people who cherish you.
Difficulties come when we fail to pay attention to life's whisper, because life always whispers to us! And if we ignore the whisper, sooner or later we will get a scream. Whatever you resist persists. But, if we ask the right question; not why is this happening, but what is this here to teach me?, then we get that chance to get the lesson we need.
Eckhart Tolle, in his book ‘A New Earth’ says: ‘Do not react against a bad situation; merge with that situation instead. And the solution will arise from the challenge. Because surrendering yourself does not mean giving up; it means acting with responsibility’
